HOW FORMULA FLAWLESS WORKS

Formulations based on Epigenetics

For the last 10yrs we have been researching the ability to improve our skin by changing how our skin cells behave at a genetic level. This is the science of Epigenetics and it is revolutionizing the way we care for our skin.

OUR DNA AND OUR GENES

Cells are made up of proteins & DNA. Our DNA is our unique map (unless we are identical twins that is).

All cells in our body contain the exact same DNA, but how the DNA behaves changes for different cells.

Our skin cells behave differently to the cells in our eyes for example.

This is because our DNA has many “genes” and the gene is an individual instruction to making essential proteins.

For example, if we need more collagen, we tell our DNA to use the particular gene that makes more collagen protein.

SWITCHING GENES BACK ON

Each gene has a separate function. And for each part of our body, some genes are switched on and others are switched off.

We call this ‘gene activation’ and ‘gene silencing’. Almost all of our body is created from and sustained by proteins that our genes create - it's known as gene expression.

In summary, we have the same DNA in each cell, but different cells have a different combination of genes that are switched on and genes that are switched off.

As we age, some genes get deactivated and some cells stagnate, but we can reverse this.

You could imagine the DNA being a piano with thousands of keys, each gene being in key on that piano.

And the combination of these keys or 'genes' being switched on or off determines what proteins are made.

Changing what happens in our cells

We cannot change our DNA without extreme intervention, but we can change our gene expression.

We can literally encourage our genes to create more proteins.

In our skin, we can encourage our genes to create more collagen and more elastin or to create more hydrating proteins, more nourishing proteins and more structural proteins.

Similarly, the environment around us damages our cells and causes our genes to react, sometimes very negatively. This we can change.

And this is the science of Epigenetics.

Gene Expression

If your surrounding environment and daily routines are unhealthy or neglectful, most likely this will encourage your DNA to switch on undesirable genes, causing many different problems, specifically to the skin.

Whether this shows up as wrinkles, rosacea, thin skin, dullness, age spots, acne, or a combination of these, or even eczema or psoriasis the problem comes from the same source.

This is known as gene expression, and the good news is, that Genes can also be encouraged to express positive benefits such as collagen and elastin production.

Nature Over Nurture

Two identical twins could look entirely different even though they have the exact same DNA due to behaviors, environment and what they put on their skin.

And by the age of 50 one could look up to 20yrs younger than the other.

This is nurture over nature and it proves that we are not bound by our genetics, we can change by how we live our lives and by what we put in our bodies and on our skin.

Cellular Damage Can Be Reversed

Our gene expressions do not change because of age alone, they change mostly because of the environment they are in and our daily habits.

The environment includes what we eat, how we frown, how much sleep we have, our social experiences, what nasty chemicals we put on our skin, what fragrances we are exposed to, how stressed we are, what cleaning products we use at home, how much sun we are exposed to and many more influences.

All of this adds up to aging us at a cellular level. Likewise, our environment and behavior can help create proteins in a healthy state, which makes skin look firm, plump, hydrated and vibrant at any age.

The good news in all of this, is that cellular damage can be reversed because aging at the cellular level is not tied to our chronological age.It is tied to how our DNA creates proteins.

'ZOMBIE CELLS' YOU MUST GET RID OF

Senescent cells are cells that are no longer dividing and no longer creating proteins that are needed. They are known as ‘Zombie Cells’. They no longer have a use, they just remain and cause inflammation, but they also remain without producing collagen.

These ‘Zombie Cells’ can be broken up and removed by a combination of naturally occurring powerful polyphenols and antioxidants.

And the creation of new proteins such as collagen and elastin are encouraged by naturally occurring peptides and retinols.

With our proprietary serums, creams, masks and scrubs, senescent cells are cleared away, and genes start creating new super-hydrated cells rich in collagen and elastin again.

Why only fresh, natural ingredients can positively impact your genes

Our DNA and our genes are part of nature, and 100% fresh, natural ingredients are the most effective way that we can positively influence our genes.

The problem is, that the beauty industry is full of products that have been kept on a shelf for years, when the half life period for any of the natural ingredients within them, means that all efficacy will have been eliminated long before they are even purchased.

Apply twice daily, every day to best results

So watch out for the beauty industry, there will be many claims of scientific breakthroughs.

But the reality of this is that any synthetic ingredient is nowhere close to being as effective on our DNA and any natural ingredient will have extremely diminished even by the time it has sat on a shelf for years, marinated in preservatives.

Either way, preserved ingredients cannot positively impact gene expression, they can only harm over time.

Worse, the synthetic ingredients sometimes do have an short term effect, but it doesn't last for long, and again, only harms over time.

EVERYTHING MADE FRESH, TO ORDER

We believe that no one should have to compromise their health for beauty.

That's why we are dedicated to 100% fresh, organic, pure skin nourishment without the nasty toxins, preservatives, fillers and additives used throughout the skincare industry to preserve shelf-life.

And for this reason, everything is made fresh, to order.

Our products are so natural and fresh, they nourish your skin at cellular level

A note from our Founder,
Rae Indigo

“In my research it became clear why we had to design an entirely different way to make skincare fresh every week ~ this is the only way to ensure that your skincare products retain the highest amount of antioxidants, polyphenols, natural retinols, ceramides and peptides needed to create real and long lasting change.

If a skincare product has been formulated for a long shelf life, the chemists use stabilizers, preservatives and other additives. This business decision, which most brands make, causes the science of Epigenetics to work against the skin, as the skin responds to these chemicals in a negative way over the long term, switching on negative gene expressions.”
